Gisèle L'Épicier
was born in Joliette, Québec. She holds a diploma in Fine Arts
from l’Université du Québec à Montréal
(UQÀM) and did additional studies at the Saidye Bronfman Centre
for the Arts in Montréal and at the University of Sherbrooke. Gisèle
L'Épicier has been painting about poetry through movement and emotions
for more than twenty years. She creates a limitless world of her own with
her characteristically natural and free brush strokes. Her urban scenes,
her flowers, her still lifes and her nudes - male and female - are particularly
appreciated. We are proud to say that Gisèle L'Épicier's
work pleases collectors from around the globe: Asia, Europe, North America,
South America and Canada. Gisèle L'Épicier was one of the
three finalists of the international competition 2003 "First Annual
On-line Art Competition: Figuratively Speaking" held by L’Atelier
Robert Coane, New York, NY, USA.
In the fall of 2004, with her painting Le violon vert,
she won the first prize of the regional competition held by l’Université
du Québec’s Institut national de la recherche scientifique in order to
select a work of art to illustrate the cover of l’Histoire
de Lanaudière, 20th volume of the series Histoire
des régions. La Conférence des élus de Lanaudière is presently
the owner of the painting.
